270: How 2015 so far?

Hello dear lovelies! So how's your 2015 so far? I hope yours started amazing just as mine did. I have been keeping up with my organizer and I'm glad that things were working out lately. I'd definitely say that I am more conscious on my goals and I've been beating myself off from procrastinating. I've been more afraid now whenever I feel like delaying my plans or whenever I ended up not doing them. Honestly, ever since I started using my organizer and started reading self-help books about productivity, I felt more in control of my life.

I'm not sure if the *organizer* is the key, but -- hahaha -- honestly, last year I just leave things to happen spontaneously or whenever it is convenient to do so, but I really do believe that the organizer helped so much to keep me on track, just as it helped me last 2013. Additionally, the self-help books keeps me fueled to go-on and strive to be better.

Here's to hoping for more accomplishment this year!

257: Breathe Creativity

I have to confess, even though I am earning quite significantly well for someone on my age, and works on a multinational technology company, I would give it up to be talented and skilled in creative arts, and earn from it.

I want to excel in drawing comics, real life portraits, be a graphic designer, an illustrator, or just someone who breathes and eats fine arts and design. Just something in that damned area.
But I am not (well, not yet there). Instead, I have to deal with servers, warehouse management, change management, and all that jazzy reports you’d roll your eyes over. I am not ungrateful because it pays so well, but settling in this situation felt like a marriage of convenience instead of love (okay, okay too much historical romance reference — hahaha). I just want to create something, okay?!

But I have hope. I am still looking forward to leave the corporate world and immerse myself in colors and design. And I know I can make this happen because I can start some time, and there’s no such thing as too late, right?

And to end my babble, here’s a thought from Kurt Vonnegut:
"…go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”

241: Time and People

Life Saver
"We'll meet at 3PM"
"No, let's make it 2PM because I know you won't be arriving by 3PM" I said almost skeptical  about the time arrangement.
"Hahaha, that won't happen" thus said my friend.

Don't get me wrong I love my friends and they are very dear to me but I cannot still comprehend why we take advantage on our relationship that we shrug off the respect of time?

I know arguing over something as little as time is not worth it. Not even worth for any relationship to be torn apart because of not being punctual and true to time appointments.

But let me say -- even though how clichè this seems -- that time is so expensive. You can't definitely buy it back once it's wasted.

I never really realized this until I got into a business. You see, minutes count in every business meetings. I cannot -- for the life of me -- be expected to wait for others on an appointment or meeting because there are so many things to be done. Sometimes 24 hours does not even fit to meet people, or to build your business, and it always makes me feel like I'm running out of time considering that I could not work on my business during weekdays because I have a corporate job to take care of.

If you are the type of person who's juggling work and business at the same time definitely time is of essence. It depresses me when a weekend is wasted, when I know I can spend my weekend for my personal growth or business. Others doesn't get that.

I mean why would someone tell you that they'll meet you by this time when they know that they won't be arriving on that time? Sometimes when others tells me that *we'll see each other by this certain time, I'll retort back if he meant that the time he gave is the time that he will be leaving his place or it's the time that he will be arriving on the place?

I don't understand why others won't just say that they will be leaving their place by -- example -- 4:00PM and arrive there by 5:00PM? I. JUST. DONT. GET IT.

If you wonder what happened, if my friend arrived on time, expect the worst: We cancelled the meeting because she had to wait for her car and she took a shower a bit too late. TADA. She said 3PM, but by 5PM her car hadn't arrived yet.

Well, I know I couldn't control that. So I did something I know I have control of, I  canceled the whole thing and instead made myself a cocktail and read Liz Uy's book/mag Stylized.

205: Life Moment: 'Round the Bend

... and I won't start apologizing for the long absence, neither will I start excusing myself as I find that there is no excuse whatsoever for not posting. But I've been insecure, to say (which is the reason why I stay out of here). The last post I've ranted in this blog was that it hadn't been curious enough and I wanted to stop that. I told myself that from that day forward, I'll write on things relevant to "curiousness" but since my mind couldn't come up relevant to that, plus work, and personal goals had been taxing I postponed the writing.

So 'round the bend. For the past few days I had been reviewing my 24 List of Curious Improvement (among other crazy thoughts that's crossing my mind) and I must say that I've been able to make a progress on some of them. But problem right now is that I never had a chance to monitor them and post them here. Well I must admit: I suck at keeping track of everything. But I think I somehow can manage to monitor them, and post them here. I just -- maybe -- need some reminder what I have to do, and stop procrastinating about it.

You know whenever I think about my goals, I cannot help but really wonder where my 'God given talent' lies. Everyone has it and I just need to find out what it is and tap it. It's frustrating that I'm 24 years old and still continues to live in a mundane lifestyle, and who's life schedule was like of an automaton. I don't want that. I want to live because I have purpose, because God's people needs me. But then reality would slap the life out of me and make me realize that the only purpose I have right now was to do the best that I can do at work (which I am currently doing), spoil my family, read a book, and be no-one knows about and live nowhere-people-knows-about. And I just can't live like that. I have to participate. I have to participate in life. Else, I'd feel like I have not done my mission.

And while I think all about this conundrum and the daily wonders of my mundane life I'll have to find something that I can do perfectly -- at least for now.

I'll get back to you and let you know what it is (while I wait for that God given talent to fall upon me).

178: November Storm

Don't we just love the beginning of a month? Seriously! Beginning of the month is the best reminder that yes, we could start all over again. And as usual, I start the month with a theme, so for this month I have entitled my theme as 'November Storm'.

But you know it sort of give me a daunting feel when I re-read my theme's name. But the reason why I wanted to call it as such is because I feel like I am going through a storm this November. I blame that what had influenced me to aptly call my theme for this month as 'Storm' was because of the impending challenges in the office.

Do not get me wrong I love the challenges that I have to face at work but I wouldn't deny that I dread the pressure and stress. Hence, just like in a storm, it's the process of preparing on the impending doom, getting over it and the lessons/rewards in the end. So, it was the right choice, and just like in every storm I have encountered (typhoon actually!) I'm positive that I'll get through it unscathed.

~ ooo ~

Anyway, I'm proud to say that I have already bought my dream camera Panasonic Lumix GF3 and I'm having a great time experimenting it. You can see my practice shots @ my flickr. Let me know how I am doing.

Last, I started going back on reading. I just finished reading Lois Lowry's the Giver (read my little thought about it) and I'm currently reading Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever. I think the Truth About Forever is promising. I am already in love with its quiet writing. :)

Okay, I'll end this rant with Lowry's quote:

143: Wanted: Car

I need a car.
vroom, vroom

This thought suddenly came when I realized how hard it was to commute going to this particular dermatology clinic at Alabang. Going there is hassle, leaving there was more hassle. After I got my face pricked and cleaned, my sister and I realized that the mode of transportation we both have is to ride a jeep. The thought of riding a jeep right after facial cleaning was horrible. But, unfortunately, it was the only option we had at the moment. So we did.

Car is not exactly a luxury because it can come very handy in some cases. I'm not exactly a car enthusiast. I love commuting because I can relax while waiting for the bus to stop on my destination. It also frees me from gas and toll worry. So the thought of getting a car was not exactly appealing to me.

However, as I grow little by little, and the places I go to no longer consist of two points, the need of a car arises. I'm telling you it's not the fact that I wanted luxury but rather the convenience of having the means to go to certain places without worrying about make-up melting, about available seats, what next to ride to get certain place, pollution, about sweating excessively before getting to the location, and the list goes on.

To say, we have a car but my father owns it; and it's not really advisable to use his car just because first, he gets a little too jumpy on idea of us borrowing his car. Second, I believe he thinks that we are going to get the car few scratches. Besides, I never really like borrowing my father's stuffs. Hence, borrowing is out of the subject.

But it's fine. I believe that I can get myself a car. I can do it. I can do this. How easy can it be?

116: Bummer

It has been quite a while since the last time I have posted here. But anyways, before I start apologizing for not updating, I'd rather just write on.

I know every Filipino knows about this. If not, I believe that person lives in cave. So last January 8 Rachel Weisz has arrived in our country. She arrived after Jeremy Renner arrived few days ago. First and foremost, it doesn't happen everyday or every year that we'll have a Hollywood movie (as big budget as that) come here to shoot. So yes, everyone went a little too excited.

I wouldn't deny that I am one of those people who was entirely very excited about the thought that Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, and Edward Norton is filming here. To say, I love Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, and Edward Norton. I love Renner and I came to love him when he was such a bad ass in the movie Hurt Locker.  In fact, days before his arrival, I was telling my friend how much I love him when we watch his recent movie MI4. Second, Rachel Weisz is one of my girl crushes. I have liked her since her movie the Mummy. I also like Edward Norton because of his Fight Club and the Hulk movie. Having them here in the country was like a dream come true. So basically, I was titillated to know the news.

I have been telling myself that it's a must for me to see them. I have to see them because it might take forever or never again for them to be in our country.
Seriously, I have qualms in going at the shooting site. My worries are of the following:
  1. We might not see Rachel, Jeremy, or Norton thus effort is wasted.
  2. I am not too familiar with the place.

But what weighs so much is my first reason. I was afraid of the disappointment if we failed to see them. But then I scolded myself for being silly. Besides, if I consider my chances of seeing them versus of me just staying at home of course the former has a higher chances. So yeah despite the fear of disappointment, I just told myself to go. At least, I wouldn't wonder what could've happen if I saw them.

So yes, this Saturday we'll be watching the shooting and hopefully we'll be successful and see them. I'm praying that I'll be able to see them.

115: What is life

I took a break and decided to write while I'm in the mood.

*sigh*, there's something that I have been thinking and though this thought have crossed my mind not once nor twice but rather quite constantly I might as well write it here. Though, I have to warn you that this entry might have have been already written in the past.

You see, I am still nagging myself of how much I let life pass me by. It feels like I am missing what life really is. But on contrary (just to be contrary) what life is all about? Is it by me sitting in this fancy building working during the night and earning a decent salary or is it the kind of life that those people probably in Republic or Opus are doing at the moment? Is life all about mothers singing lullaby to their sons/daughters at night? You know what life really is?

To me, my definition of life is being able to experience things we never have experience. Life is colorful.

Life had been incredibly dull for me for a while. I mean, most (mark the word, MOST) of my free time were spent taking rest and if I'm not taking a rest I spend my time working. I just want to go out of there and see the world. Take a free fall towards the deepest sea. Eat the spiciest curry. Laugh with strangers. Be passionately in love with someone. Be reckless. Be wild. Be life.

Can I just break free from this cocoon and just be me?

113: the Bat-Shoes has arrived!

And I can now be a bat-girl

"I need to have that shoes". Thus, what my head told me when I saw this picture that Bianca Gonzales tweeted. I love nerdy stuffs and Batman so it's not a surprise that this one had grabbed my attention.

This one was bought in HongKong. DC Converse was sold here worth 3000+. Additionally, the shoes was only available for males and kids. But I am glad that they didn't have a size for women or else I would have spent 3000+ to my impulsiveness.

I am happy that I got this for 2,500 and thought how much I have saved. Now, I can play bat-girl at night and do some ninja stuff.
